Last night I as talking to one of my relative and telling him about the upcoming record breaking event of "WORLD RECORD FOR MOST PEOPLE SINGING NATIONAL ANTHEM", by singing Pakistan's national anthem.
I was amazed to see how negative his thoughts were towards this event. According to him this event is of no good. It is just a waste of time and just another excuse to party. He believes if we really want to make a difference or want to bring change then we should do something better. He also added in a very grinning manner that this habit of our nation to has brought us here that we don't even think straight and prioritize.
When he finished delivering all his hatred filled words, I simply gave him a wicked smile and opened my mouth. I asked him, "Tell me one thing, if I put you behind a huge wall stopping you from all the beauty and luxuries on the other side. And give you a ladder to climb out and over the wall in order to get all that. What would you do?". He replied, "I'll climb the ladder and cross and over the wall get all that". Then I asked, "How will you climb the ladder?". The answer was obvious, he said, "from bottom to top". That is when I turned his face emotionless and surprised by saying, "And I rest my case".
I didn't started a prolong debate with him. I didn't start a hyped discussion. I didn't do anything that he might be expecting by saying all the negativity. It is very simple and realistic that one cannot walk a mile without taking the first step or series of little steps to cover the distance. Each little drop collectively forms into a sea.
I'm going to say the same to you all, as I said to my cousin. We are taking a step towards doing something for the country. It might not be big or worthy enough in your eyes but we are initiating. We are trying make people think that the betterment lies in their own hands. The change is in their actions. We are acting to unite this nation. Our struggle is to bring them under one flag of Pakistan. Come and be a part of that one nation. Feel the patriotism, pride and honor of being a citizen of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Be a part of Quaid-E-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's ideology of unity, faith and discipline.
We the citizens of Pakistan invite you, I invite you, the brothers and sisters of this nation invite you to join them. Make history!
